The Relationship Officer will be responsible for managing and safeguarding credit security documents and ensuring that loan-related information in the bank’s systems is accurate and properly maintained. The role also involves supporting credit operations at the branch and ensuring compliance with the bank’s credit policies and procedures.
The selected candidates will perform several duties including:
- Ensuring that credit and security documents are properly executed and safely stored.
- Maintaining accurate loan account information within the bank’s system.
- Supporting the Branch Credit Committee by organizing meetings and recording minutes.
- Monitoring loan performance and ensuring timely action on overdue or delinquent accounts.
- Coordinating recovery actions when borrowers fail to meet loan obligations.
- Ensuring regular visits to borrowers’ businesses to assess performance and loan utilization.
- Preparing credit reports and recommendations for management review.
- Ensuring compliance with credit policies and operational procedures.
- Supporting loan recovery processes and reporting recovery progress.
- A degree in Finance, Banking, Economics, Law, Accountancy, Business Administration, or related fields from a recognized institution.
- Professional qualifications such as CPA, ACCA, or postgraduate studies in related fields are an added advantage.
- Experience in credit operations, lending, or banking activities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
