Credit Risk Manager
Department: Branch Credit
Reports to: Business Growth Development Manager (Branch Manager)
Job Purpose
The Credit Risk Manager is responsible for managing and controlling credit risk at the branch level. The role focuses on identifying potential risks, monitoring loan performance, and ensuring that lending activities follow the bank’s policies and regulatory requirements.
The position helps the bank maintain healthy loan portfolios while supporting sustainable business growth.
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Identifying and reporting credit risks affecting the branch
- Reviewing and analyzing loan applications from personal, SME, and corporate customers
- Participating in the branch credit committee to evaluate business transactions
- Monitoring delinquent accounts and recommending recovery actions
- Ensuring proper documentation and safe custody of credit files
- Supporting loan recovery and remediation processes
- Preparing credit risk reports for management
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Banking, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration
- 3–5 years of banking experience
- At least 2 years in credit analysis, credit risk management, or lending relationship management
Successful candidates should have:
- Credit and financial analysis skills
- Loan portfolio monitoring experience
- Knowledge of banking regulations and risk frameworks
- Ability to assess market and industry risks
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
